Dr Saw Lin
A Brief Biography of Professor Dr Saw Lynn
He did his BA (Philosophy) from Mandalay University of Distance Education in 1995 with credit. He received his MA (Philosophy) with credit in 2001 from the University of Mandalay. He got his MRes (Philosophy) with credit from the University of Mandalay in 2002. He completed his PhD in Philosophy from Osmania University, Hyderabad India in 2006. He has been working as a faculty member in the department of Philosophy in 1998. Some research papers are published in University Research Journal. He participated several National and International Conferences, Seminars and Workshops. His interest of research is Buddhist philosophy. He supervised more than ten MA (Philosophy) candidates. Presently he is working as the head of the department of philosophy, Shwebo University.

Dr Thwe Thwe Khaing

She did her BA (Philosophy) from Taunggyi University in 1995 with credit. She received her MA (Philosophy) in 2002 from the University of Mandalay. She completed her PhD in Philosophy from the University of Yangon in 2007. She has been working as a faculty member in the department of Philosophy in 1998. She participated several National and International Conferences, Seminars and Workshops. Her interest of research is ethics. She supervised more than ten MA (Philosophy) candidates. Presently she is working as the professor of the department of philosophy, Shwebo University.

History
Department of philosophy has offered undergraduate programme since 2011 and is now offering postgraduate programme as well. The former heads of the department were U Khin Maung Win, U Phyo Zaw Thein, U Kyee Ngwe, Dr Nu Nu Lwin and Daw Moe Moe Lin. Dr Saw Lin is the current professor and head of the department of philosophy.

Welcome wisdom lovers! The department of philosophy offers BA and MA courses in philosophy. Logic and ethics are popular fields among the students. Our well experience faculties always monitor and guide you to improve the critical and creative thinking skills. Come and discuss the various thoughts of different philosophers and let’s apply them in daily life.
